Glitter Gala
A Sparkling Cabaret with Pride
Benifit for Austin Rainbow Theatre
Sunday, August 3rd
6 PM - 9 PM @ Parker Jazz Club
Get ready to sparkle for a cause — a dazzling evening of sequins, sass, and show-stopping talent, all in support of Austin Rainbow Theatre, Austin’s LGBTQIA+ theatre amplifying queer voices and stories that deserve the spotlight. This year, as funding for LGBTQIA+ organizations tightens, we’re rising to meet new challenges.
We’re throwing our first-ever Glitter Gala on Sunday, August 3rd at Parker Jazz Club, hosted by the glitter queen herself, Ritzy Bitz! The evening features performances by acclaimed opera talents Claudia Chapa (mezzo-soprano) and Austin Siebert (bass-baritone), both recently seen on the Austin Opera stage. It will be a night to celebrate the power and beauty of queer expression.
The evening features:
✨ Dazzling cabaret and drag performances
🎙 Gender-reversal Showtunes — with interpretations that bring fresh, bold context to songs originally written for the opposite gender
🍸 Glittering cocktails and bites from our sponsor Flavor & Co.
🎁 A silent auction sparkling with high-end treasures
It’s part Broadway, part speakeasy, and 100% unforgettable. Come for the vibes, stay for the vocals — and leave knowing you helped keep queer art loud, proud, and center stage.
What to expect
An Event to Remember:
- Dazzling Drag & Cabaret Performances
- Delicious Bites from Flavor & Co. Catering
- Glitzy Cocktails (each attendee receives 2 drink tickets)
- A Live/Silent Auction of Luxe Items & Experiences
Attire: Glitz & Glam
Sparkle is encouraged! Think glitter, sequins, rhinestones, and bold, expressive fashion. Dress to be photographed!
Why Your Support Matters
Austin Rainbow Theatre exists to amplify queer voices — boldly, unapologetically, and beautifully. We are Austin’s only dedicated LGBTQIA+ theatre company, creating space for queer stories to be told, heard, and celebrated on stage.
But across the country, arts funding is shrinking. Grants that once helped sustain grassroots, inclusive organizations like ours are being slashed or eliminated altogether. And for queer-focused arts groups, the impact is even deeper — we’re often the first to face cuts and the last to be funded.
That’s why we’re turning to the community we serve. Your presence at the Glitter Gala helps us produce new works, pay queer artists, rent performance space, and keep the spotlight shining on the stories that matter.
In a time when LGBTQIA+ voices are being challenged and censored, supporting queer theatre isn’t just generous — it’s necessary. Because theatre has always been a place for truth, resistance, and joy. And with your help, it will continue to be.
Thank you for standing with us, celebrating with us, and making queer art possible.
